Wedding DJ / MC Hire FAQ's

Do we need to provide a meal for the DJ / MC?

While a meal is always appreciated, you are not required to provide a vendor meal. All we ask it that you let is know either way so that your DJ/MC can come prepared.

Do I meet with my DJ?

– With the Essentials DJ package, you will have a phone chat with your DJ in the week leading up to your event.
– With the Experience DJ package, you will have an in person/zoom planning meeting.

Do I meet with my MC?

If you’ve booked an MC + DJ package, you will have an in person/zoom planning meeting with your MC.

What time will the DJ arrive for my event?

Depending on the venue and what you have booked, the DJ will arrive about 1 – 2 hours before your event.

Do I need to choose all the music?

Choosing music for your event can be difficult. You can supply a few songs which the DJ can go off to create the rest of your playlist. If you don’t want to select any songs, you can supply genres or artists that you like and the DJ can then use that.

Do I need to use your online planning portal, or can I send through music another way?

No you don’t need to use the online portal. Other examples of ways for you to get your songs to us include Spotify playlist and word documents sent through via email.

Are guest requests on the night okay?

Yes, as long as you have given the DJ to permission to play guest requests.

A song I want isn’t in the online planning portal, what do I do?

You can utilise the ‘add your own’ tab in the online planning portal or you can email help@gmeventgroup.com.au with the title and artist. You’re also welcome to create a Spotify playlist to share with us if you have multiple songs.

Will the DJ bring their own speakers?

Yes, we will bring our own speakers, along with any other equipment we need for your event

How many songs do I need to pick for the DJ to play?

The DJ plays about 15 songs an hour.

Will the DJ be there for the ceremony music?

If you have booked the Ceremony Music add-on, the DJ will be there to play your ceremony music. Contact us if you wish to add this on.

Does the DJ do Karaoke?

No, we do not provide Karaoke services.

What is the average time a DJ is at a wedding?

The most popular time we are booked for is 5 hours.

Where do you travel to?

We are happy to travel to all Brisbane, Toowoomba, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast locations. We also travel to northern New South Wales and have been known to venture to other interstate locations. If your event is far from local, be sure to contact us. Our team love a good road trip 🙂

How much deposit do you require?

To secure your booking we require a $350 non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.

Do you need access to a powerpoint?

Yes, we require access to a standard power point (240V).
